As many of you have noticed, there has been some silent periods. These were caused by various back-end problems (IRC). Dupenet-server is not affected. I will always try to refill the db, but in case I missed some period, please let me know.
There has been some bots trying to read the site data, but I have banned the most obvious ones. Word of warning: if a bot is detected, I will ban the related IP address and user account immediately.
There was also at least one DDoS attack which affected the performance for some hours.

Last night server crashed badly. I could not reach it at all. Hoster had to hard-reboot it and after that I’ve been working on it. Plan is to re-open dupenet.com soon(ish).
Update: site is now open.

I’ve received certain questions over msg-system and email several times:
- Will Dupenet affiliate with some other site (torrents etc.) against some stuff or for free. Answer: no.
- Can you improve the JavaScript performance (NFO-viewer mostly): Answer: no. Get faster PC or use some other service
- Will you add search by date function. Answer: Perhaps later
- Will you add RSS feeds. Answer: No

One observant user sent me feedback about the “remember me” or auto-login cookie expiration. He noticed that they expire relatively fast: ~24 hrs or so. I have fixed this and now the auto-login cookie should be valid for five days.
If you want to use longer auto-login, you must logout, refresh the browser properly and login.

After a short maintenance break, you should refresh the browser properly, re-login and start using site version 0.90.

There is now a short maintenance break before the site update. All active users will be forced to logged out.
Version 0.89 changes: password can be now changed. I also corrected several bugs and added some new security features.
